Managerial Career
ALLOA ATHLETIC F.C. Scottish Championship League Jan 2014 – Present Manager

Barry was headhunted to return to First Team Management with his Appointment at Alloa Athletic. As Manager, Barry is fully responsible for the week to week selection, direction and management of the team. The team consists mostly of part time players playing in the Scottish Championship League which is the second league in Scottish Professional Football – predominantly against ‘full time’ teams. Barry has already achieved, securing the team’s place in the Championship League for next season. This is only the 2nd time in the clubs history and the first in the last 30 years.

ROSS COUNTY F.C. Scottish Premier League Jul 2013 – Present
Youth Coach
Appointed as head coach of the under 20s squad, Barry was completely responsible for the coaching and development of Ross County’s youth players. This was a critical role in the long term strategy and development of the club as a whole. Responsible for identifying early stage talent and providing grass roots coaching. In addition to football related coaching, Barry also provided invaluable personal development and mentoring, teaching discipline and other life skills. As part of the role, Barry recently attended the Under 20’s World Cup in Turkey. This involved attending matches, analysing and reviewing play, tactics, performance and individual skills as well as providing match reports, presentation and identification and implementation of learning outcomes. This additional activity contributes to the UEFA ‘Pro’ Licence that Barry is currently undertaking.

In addition Barry was asked to contribute and advise on the SFA Coach Education Course. This involved Barry assisting and contributing to the content and delivery of the SFA Coach Education programme.

Managerial Achievements

2010 After Dundee F.C. went into administration, given a 25 point penalty, taking them to the bottom of the First Division League with a negative points score, with a greatly reduced team and enduring a transfer embargo, as Manager, Barry led the team on a record breaking run of 23 unbeaten games, taking them to mid-table safety.

2010/11 Won Manager of the Month on 5 occasions awarded by league
2012 Dundee F.C. were promoted into the Scottish Premier League, as 1st Division runners-up.

1997 Won first division title and promotion into Premier league in first year as Captain of Dundee F.C.
